The division will be located at three ranges: Kuzminsky, Millerovsky and Kadamovsky. The infrastructure of the military camp of the new motorized rifle formation was built from scratch. Construction work in the garrison continues. It is planned to fully equip the territory by May.
“The town that is being built allows soldiers and sergeants to feel comfortable. These are hostels with separate cubicles with hot water, showers, washing machines, microwave ovens, tea rooms. History of the 150th division of the first formation
It was formed in September 1943 on the basis of the 151st separate rifle brigade, the 127th cadet and 144th.
Initially included in the 34th Army. Then, as part of the 6th Guards Army and the 3rd Shock Army, she went through a combat path from Nevel to Berlin.
By order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief No. 207 of July 23, 1944, for the liberation of the village of Idritsa, the 150th division was given the name "Idritsa".
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 26, 1945, the 150th Rifle Division was awarded the Order of Kutuzov II degree for the night battle near Lake Woshwansee.
April 22, 1945 during the Berlin offensive operation the division received from the Military Council of the 3rd shock army one of the nine special banners intended for hoisting over the Reichstag. During the battle for the Reichstag, the assault flag of the 150th division was set over the main entrance to the building by Lieutenant Rakhimzhan Koshkarbaev and Private Grigory Bulatov. According to experts, the new division is an effective tool for modern high-tech mobile warfare. Its regiments can equally effectively stop the enemy, break into his defenses, make breakthroughs and fight in his rear.
As Izvestia was told in the Southern Military District, the formation of the 150th MSD is already being completed. In addition to two motorized rifle and two tank regiments, it includes artillery and anti-aircraft regiments, a reconnaissance battalion, a communications battalion and other units and subunits. The tank regiments of the new division will be armed with modernized T-72B3 tanks with additional protection.
The classic motorized rifle division is well suited for defending and breaking through enemy defenses. And the tank is effective in maneuvering actions: encirclement, coverage, marches, - military expert Vladislav Shurygin told Izvestia. - But the new 150th division is a universal tool. It can effectively solve the tasks of both a conventional motorized rifle division and a tank division. The new connection is designed for modern high-tech warfare. Its units and subunits will operate effectively in the conditions of the use of high-precision weapons and electronic interference. It is not as large as a conventional motorized rifle division and outperforms a tank division in terms of firepower.
According to the expert, the maneuverability and mobility of the division is determined by the number of personnel, as well as the equipment of combat and rear units. The more of them, the less mobile the connection, but at the same time it has more firepower. The new 150th MSD is a reasonable compromise.
The first experiments on the formation of universal divisions were undertaken in the Soviet army in the late 1980s. In 1989, three tank divisions stationed in the GDR (9th, 16th Guards and 90th Guards) were transferred to the new state. But in the 1990s, after the withdrawal from Germany, one formation was disbanded, and the rest were transferred to a regular state.
The second attempt to form universal divisions was made on the initiative former boss General Staff of Army General Yuri Baluyevsky. Three formations were transferred to the new state: the 10th Guards Tank, 3rd and 34th Motorized Rifle Divisions. On January 14, 2016, Sergei Shoigu first announced the need for the appearance of a motorized rifle division in the Southern Military District (SMD). He noted that the new formation should be placed in three military garrisons of the Rostov region and at the Kuzminsky, Kadamovsky and Millerovo training grounds. Later, the head of the military department ordered the creation of a modern infrastructure.
Construction work began in the spring, when the engineering troops began demolishing dilapidated buildings, laying foundations for new houses in the garrisons, and modernizing the training grounds. Formally, the Idritsko-Berlin division was formed in May last year, it took a little less than a year to create the infrastructure.
According to the Ministry of Defense, dozens of residential, utility and administrative facilities, park and storage areas, cottages for command personnel were built in half a year, combat training facilities were modernized. Then 30 dormitories were erected where soldiers and junior officers would live, three barracks for conscripts, 20 canteens, a guardhouse and two awning mobile shelters for storage military equipment.
Sergei Shoigu got acquainted with how the 150th motorized rifle division is being equipped. During the inspection, the Minister of Defense ordered that the military equipment storage parks in the permanent readiness units be heated. “This applies to parks of all units of combat readiness,” Shoigu stressed.
In all other storage facilities, the minister said, heaters should be provided for heating in winter, which would allow the temperature to be quickly brought to positive.
Combat training of servicemen will take place at renovated training grounds with a total area of over 14,000 hectares. In particular, Kadamovskoye will house a tactical training field, a tank headmistress, a tank track, an autodrome, several military shooting ranges and two unified headmistresses for firing from combat vehicle guns.

Idritsa was a strategically important railway junction and concentration camp hosted by the Nazis. On April 26, 1945, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the 150th division was awarded the Order of Kutuzov II degree for a heavy night battle. The connection participated in the liberation of Poland, in the Warsaw-Poznan (January 14 - February 2, 1945) and Vistula-Oder (January 12 - February 2) operations, but forever in world history the division entered as the forward striking force of the Berlin operation (April 16 - May 8).
