The most unusual planets in the universe. "Glass rain" and "scorched world": ten of the strangest planets in the universe (photo) 10 of the strangest planets

Every day, NASA scans the galaxy for new planets, stars, and systems scattered throughout the cosmos. People have sent a lot of probes into space - from Voyager 1 to Juno, which were tasked with first exploring the solar system, and then going beyond it. The Kepler space observatory has discovered many exoplanets that orbit stars very different from our sun.

Because of this, many planets are called Kepler. While scientists discover many new exoplanets every year, many of them are just cold chunks of rock orbiting distant, unknown stars. Occasionally, however, planets are discovered that are strange enough to interest even the most sophisticated astrophysicist. Here are examples of 10 such planets.

1. "Ice ball"

planet OGLE-2016-BLG-1195Lb
An icy exoplanet found 13,000 light-years away solar system. The temperature on its surface ranges from -220 degrees Celsius to -186 degrees Celsius, which is why the planet is sometimes called an "ice ball". As you know, a light year is a measure of the relative distance that light travels in one year. Given that the speed of light is almost 300,000 kilometers per second (1.08 billion km/h), one would have to travel a very long way to see such a giant ice ball. So far, the fastest humans have been able to achieve in space has been recorded by New Horizons, a space probe launched in 2006 to explore Pluto, its moon, and the Kuiper belt.

New Horizons flies at over 58,000 kilometers per hour, far from the speed of light. Thus, humanity simply does not have the technology to visit even the closest system to the Sun, which is only a few light years away. OGLE-2016-BLG-1195Lb was detected using microlensing, a process used to detect planets as they pass in front of their stars (their light dims). Curiously, all the ice on OGLE-2016-BLG-1195Lb is considered to be fresh water.

2. "Hot thing"

planet KELT-9b
The hottest exoplanet ever found by scientists, and it is slowly disappearing. At a distance of 650 light-years from Earth, KELT-9b is very close to its star, meaning that one side of it is constantly facing the star while the other is not. This gas giant is about three times the size of Jupiter and literally glows (its temperature is 4315 degrees Celsius). This is more than the temperature of most stars, and almost reaches the temperature on the surface of the Sun (5505 degrees Celsius). After a few million years, KELT-9b will burn out all its gases and disappear.

3. "Evaporating water world"

planet GJ 1214b
It is a huge "water world", three times the size of the Earth, which can be found at a distance of 42 light years from the solar system. All the water on Earth is 0.05 percent of its mass, and GJ 1214b's water is 10 percent of the planet's mass. It is assumed that GJ 1214b has oceans that can reach depths of up to 1600 kilometers (recall that the deepest place on Earth is the Mariana Trench 11 kilometers deep).

Humans have only explored about 5 percent of our oceans so far, and have already found countless amazing creatures they never knew existed. One has only to imagine what horrors lie in the deep waters of GJ 1214b.

4. "Diamond"

planet PSR J1719-1438 b
A planet made of pure diamond. The large carbon-based planet, about five times the diameter of Earth, lies about 4,000 light-years from the solar system. Due to the enormous pressure caused by gravitational forces planets, the carbon compressed to form a giant diamond. This exoplanet orbits the millisecond pulsar PSR J1719-1438. Astronomers believe that the pulsar was once a massive star that later became a "stellar corpse" after going supernova.

Similar rare millisecond pulsars are thought to form in binary systems when big star absorbs the matter of its companion. In this case, the companion star was likely the white dwarf that our Sun will become when it dies. A white dwarf is a remnant that no longer has nuclear fuel. The millisecond pulsar PSR J1719-1438 "ate" its white dwarf companion, of which only 0.1 percent of its mass remained, after which the white dwarf turned into an exotic crystalline companion for the pulsar - a diamond planet.

5. "Real Tatooine"

planet Kepler-16b
It is the real life equivalent of the planet Tatooine from Star Wars. This is because Kepler-16b is one of the few exoplanets (at least those discovered by humans) that orbit in a binary star system. Kepler-16b has a mass 105 times that of the Earth, and its size exceeds our "blue ball" by 8.5 times.

This exoplanet has an atmosphere composed of hydrogen, methane, and small amounts of helium. Located about 200 light-years from the solar system, Kepler-16b completes its orbit around two stars in 627 years. Although this planet may be similar to Tatooine, life cannot exist on Kepler-16b.

6. Scorched World

planet Kepler-10b
The smallest exoplanet discovered to date, and scientists believe its surface is covered in oceans of lava. About 560 light-years from Earth, Kepler-10b was the first rocky planet found outside the solar system. This was a significant step for humanity towards future space exploration. The temperature on the surface of the planet reaches 1400 degrees Celsius.

As a result, rocks on the surface melt and merge into vast oceans of lava. Due to the high density of this planet, Kepler-10b is believed to contain a huge amount of iron. And this leads to the fact that the lava on it should have a bright red hue.

7. "Dark"

planet TrES-2b
The darkest known exoplanet. It reflects less than 1 percent of the incident on it. sunlight, which makes TrES-2b darker than jet black acrylic paint. In fact, it was a real miracle that scientists were able to detect a planet whose light was so scarce (by the way, this raises an important question: how many exoplanets did scientists miss due to the lack of reflected light).

TrES-2b is about 750 light-years from the solar system. Its atmosphere contains sodium, potassium and titanium oxide vapors that absorb light. However, it still remains a mystery why the planet is so dark, and perhaps this mystery will never be solved.

8. "Glass Rain"

planet HD 189733b
Perhaps this is one of the most interesting exoplanets on this list. HD 189733b, 63 light-years from Earth, is raining glass. They run parallel to the surface. Yes, this is not a mistake: the wind on this hellish planet can reach speeds of 8700 kilometers per hour, so the rains here, in fact, do not fly down, but sideways. The silica-rich atmosphere causes the planet's clouds to shed liquid glass, which solidifies as it falls to the surface. The wind of HD 189733b carries the glass through the atmosphere at such speeds that the fragments fly horizontally through the air, cutting everything in their path.

9. "Strange Water"

planet 55 Cancri e
It is close to its star, so the water on its surface is both in a liquid and gaseous state. This exoplanet orbits 25 times closer to its star than Mercury does to the Sun and completes its orbit in just 18 hours. It's very fast.

Because 55 Cancri e is so close to its star, one side of it is constantly facing the star while the other is not. As a result, the water on the side facing the star is in a supercritical state, being both a liquid and a gas. The mass of 55 Cancri e is about 7.8 times that of the Earth, and the planet is about twice the size of the Earth.

10. "Stone snowfall"

planet CoRoT-7b
A strange exoplanet because it snows from rocks. Like many other exoplanets, it is close to its star. The temperature on the side facing the sun reaches 2200 degrees Celsius, while on the opposite side it drops to -210 degrees Celsius. The lava from the side of the star heats up so much that it evaporates just like water on our planet.

This creates large rocky clouds that later condense on the relatively cooler side of the planet, where snow eventually falls from large rocks. On the hotter side, it's raining...only real molten lava.

Astronomers have been studying the planets of the solar system for centuries. The first of these were discovered due to the unusual movement in the night sky of some luminous bodies, different from other non-moving stars. The Greeks called them wanderers - "planan" in Greek.

The very complex nature of the entire planetary system was first pointed out by the famous Galileo, who, having examined Jupiter through a telescope, noticed how other celestial bodies revolve around this gas giant. The first planet outside our solar system was only discovered in 1994.

The article presents some of the most unusual planets in the universe.

General information

The alien world has not yet been fully explored and is mysterious. Dr. Alexander Volschan observed unusual changes in the signal of the pulsar of the star Beta Piktoris. He proved the existence of several planets in orbit. After that, another 1888 exoplanets were discovered, which radically changed the ideas of astronomers about space, about the methods of formation celestial bodies and even about the development over more than 13 billion years of the Universe.

There are among the planets in the universe so unusual that they look more like the fruit of science fiction than real celestial bodies.

Below are 10 unusual planets.

TrES-2b

Its other names are black hole planet or light-eating planet.

It is close in size to Jupiter. It is located at a distance of about 750 light years. This planet absorbs light so much that it is considered the darkest known object in the universe. It is a Jupiter-type gas giant, but it reflects less than one percent of the light. Therefore, this celestial body is very dark, and it is very difficult to detect it. Yet it is a hot planet that emits a reddish, dull glow.

HD209458b

The planet Osiris is located in the constellation Pegasus at a distance of approximately 150 light years. It is also larger than Jupiter by about 30%. The orbit of Osiris is equal to 1/8 of the distance from the Sun to Mercury, and the Fahrenheit temperature on this planet is approximately 1832 degrees.

The pressure and heat of a gaseous planet cause the various gases contained in its atmosphere to evaporate strongly, like air from a balloon. This unusual planet has stunned astronomers.

HAT-P-1

In size, it exceeds Uranus and seems to float in water. Thanks to this, it belongs to unusual celestial bodies.

This is a recently discovered gas giant, which is half the size of Jupiter. However, the planet looks extraordinary.

HD 106906b

The most unusual planets (see photo below) include the charming HD 106906 b of the constellation Crax. This is the loneliest planet, located at a distance of 300 light years from Earth. It is 11 times larger than Jupiter in size.

This is a real discovery of our time. Despite its colossal size, it revolves around its star at a distance of 20 times the distance between Neptune and the Sun, which is approximately equal to 60,000,000,000 miles.

J1407 b and her rings

This unusual planet was discovered in 2012. The distance from Earth to it is 400 light years. The planet has its own system of rings, the dimensions of which exceed Saturn by 200 times.

The ring system is so large that if applied to Saturn, they would dominate the earth's sky. This planet is much larger than the full moon.

Methuselah

It is unusual in that it is about a billion years younger than the universe. It was believed that the age of Methuselah could not be about 13 billion years due to the lack of materials in the Universe for its formation. And yet it is 3 times older than the Earth.

An unusual planet moves among the stars of the constellation Scorpio, bound together by gravity.

CoRoT-7b

This celestial body was the first rocky planet discovered orbiting another star. According to astronomers, it was once a giant gas planet, like Saturn and Neptune, but then the gas levels in the atmosphere dropped due to the close proximity to the star.

The planet always faces the star on one side, on which the temperature is 4000 degrees Fahrenheit. The other side is frozen (350F). All this explains the occurrence of stone rains.

Gliese 436 b

It is a burning ball of ice. In size, this unusual planet is about the size of Neptune, but 20 times the size of the Earth.

The temperature on this planet in Fahrenheit is 822 degrees. Due to the fact that the hot ice on the planet is held by huge gravitational forces, water molecules do not evaporate and do not leave the planet.

Such a wonderful name is given to the young star Fomalhaut along with the space debris surrounding it. All this together looks like a giant eye looking out from outer space. It is eternal and does not blink.

Space debris from rocks, ice and dust creates a giant disk around the eye, which is 2 times the size of the entire solar system.

55 Cancri

This super-Earth class planet was discovered in 2004. Its dimensions are 2 times larger than the Earth. The temperature reaches 3900 degrees Fahrenheit. The large rocky planet consists mainly of carbon that has turned into graphite and diamond. Given the current value of a diamond (according to market valuations), the value of the planet is $26.9 nonillion.

This richest object is located at a distance of about 40 light years from the planet Earth.

NASA scrupulously explores the galaxy in search of new planets and stars scattered across this vast space. Many new celestial bodies are discovered every year, many of which are simply lifeless cold formations orbiting distant stars. However, among these boring and cold blocks, a very unusual planet can sometimes be found.

1. OGLE-2016-BLG-1195Lb - Planet "Ice Ball"

It is an icy exoplanet 13,000 light-years from our solar system. Its temperature ranges from -220 to -186 degrees Celsius, for which the planet was nicknamed the "Ice Ball". You can get to it in one year, provided that you move at the speed of light. All ice on OGLE-2016-BLG-1195Lb is considered freshwater, but it is unlikely that humanity will be able to use this water in the foreseeable future.

2. KELT-9b - Hot Planet

It is the hottest exoplanet ever found. It is located at a distance of 650 light years from us, and it is "tied" to its star. The gas giant is about three times the size of Jupiter, and its temperature is almost 4315 degrees Celsius. For comparison, the temperature of the Sun is approximately 5505 degrees. In a few million years, KELT-9b will burn out all the gases and disappear, leaving its star alone.

3. GJ 1214b - Steamy Water World

GJ 1214b is a huge "water world" three times the size of Earth, located 42 light-years away. Earth's water is 0.05% of its mass, and GJ 1214b's water is 10%! It has been suggested that GJ 1214b has oceans up to 1600 km deep. By the way, the deepest oceanic point on Earth (the Mariana Trench) is only 11 km!

4. PSR J1719-1438 b - Diamond Planet

Yes, PSR J1719-1438 b is pure diamond! It is a huge carbon planet with a diameter five times that of Earth at a distance of about 4000 light years. Due to the enormous pressure caused by the planet's gravity, the carbon condensed to form a giant diamond.

5. Kepler-16b is the real Tatooine

Kepler-16b is actually an absolute analogue of Tatooine, the planet from Star Wars. It is one of the rarest exoplanets that orbit in a binary star system. Kepler-16b has a mass 105 times the Earth and 8.5 times its radius. The atmosphere is made up of hydrogen, methane and a small amount of helium. Life on the planet is impossible, so don't expect to find droids there!

6. Kepler-10b - Scorched World

It is the smallest exoplanet discovered to date and most likely has oceans of lava on its surface. It is located at a distance of 560 light years from Earth, its temperature is 1400 degrees. As a result, the rocks on the surface melt, causing huge lava flows that tear through the entire exoplanet. It is believed that there is a lot of iron on the planet, because the lava there should be bright red.

7. TrES-2b - Dark Planet

It is the darkest exoplanet that reflects less than 1% of sunlight. In fact, it's a miracle that it was found at all in the complete absence of light. TrES-2b is about 750 light years away. The atmosphere contains gaseous sodium, potassium, and titanium oxide, all of which absorb light. However, it still remains a mystery why the planet is so dark.

8. HD 189733b - Planet with glass rain

Perhaps one of the most interesting exoplanets, it is 63 light-years away, and it rains obliquely from glass. Winds on this planet reach speeds of up to 8,700 kilometers per hour, causing precipitation to fall sideways. A concentrated atmosphere with silicon dioxide causes liquid glass to pour from the clouds, solidifying as it falls. The wind carries the glass at such a speed that the fragments fly horizontally through the air, cutting everything in their path.

9. 55 Cancri e - Planet with strange water

This planet is "tied" to its own sun by the so-called tidal lock, and the water on its surface is both a liquid and a gas. One side of the planet constantly looks at the sun, and the other does not. As a result, water on the planet is in a state where it is both a liquid and a gas.

10. CoRoT-7b - Planet with stone snow

This is a rather strange exoplanet where there is stone snow! Like many other exoplanets, it too is tidally locked to its sun star. The side facing the sun reaches temperatures up to 2200 degrees and the other side up to -210 degrees. The lava from the side of the sun heats up so much that it evaporates in the same way as water on our planet. As a result, large stone clouds are formed, which then fall as stone snow on the cool side.

OGLE-2016-BLG-1195Lb is an icy planet located 13,000 light years from the solar system. The temperature on its surface can vary from -220 to -186 degrees Celsius, which is why it is often called an "ice ball".

A light year is a relative measure of the distance that would need to be traveled if one traveled at the speed of light for an entire year. The speed of light, in turn, is approximately 300,000 kilometers per second, or more than one billion kilometers per hour. In other words, if we want to see this ice ball in person, we will have to fly to it for a very long time and at a very high speed.

At the moment, the fastest known man-made object in space is the space probe "", sent to study the planet Pluto, its moons, as well as Kuiper Belt objects in 2006. Its speed is just over 58,000 kilometers per hour, which is much lower than the speed of light. This is all to the fact that we do not yet have the technology that would allow us to visit the nearest system, even if it is only a few light years away. Therefore, we use long-range observation technologies to detect and determine some of the characteristics of distant exoplanets and their atmospheres. The same OGLE-2016-BLG-1195Lb was detected using the microlensing method - when the planet passed its star, a short-term decrease in its brightness was observed.

Scientists believe that the ice of the planet OGLE-2016-BLG-1195Lb consists of water. The news is definitely great, but we are unlikely to be able to use this water in the near future. Guessing, of course, is endless, but who knows, perhaps this planet as a source of fresh water can be used by highly developed and technologically advanced alien civilizations.

Hell in the flesh. Planet KELT-9b

KELT-9b is the hottest exoplanet ever discovered. It is so hot that it literally kills itself, burning out its mass. It is located 650 light-years from us and is constantly turned on one side to its star.

Being gas giant, it is about three times larger than our Jupiter and at the same time the temperature on its surface is 4315 degrees Celsius. This is more than most stars known to us, and almost as hot as the surface of our Sun, which burns at a temperature of 5505 degrees Celsius.

In a few million years, KELT-9b will burn out completely, and then completely disappear, leaving only a lone star located next to it.

The world of water. Planet GJ 1214b

The planet GJ 1214b is a huge "water world", three times the size of our Earth, and is located about 42 light years from our solar system. All water on Earth is only 0.05 percent of the mass of our planet, while GJ 1214b has so much water that its mass is 10 percent of the total mass of the planet.

Scientists suggest that GJ 1214b has oceans, whose depth can reach up to 1600 kilometers. For comparison: the deepest point on planet Earth, the Mariana Trench, goes down only 11 kilometers.

We have explored only about 5 percent of our oceans and have already discovered countless living creatures that we did not even know existed. Just imagine how much deep sea horror can hide under the thickness of the oceans of GJ 1214b!

Planet PSR J1719-1438 b. girls best friend

Planet PSR J1719-1438 b is a giant purest diamond. In the literal sense of the word. The diameter of the carbon planet is about five times the diameter of the Earth. It is located 4000 light years from the solar system. Due to the very powerful force of gravity and the pressure exerted, the planet turned into one giant diamond.

This exoplanet orbits the millisecond pulsar PSR J1719-1438. Astronomers believe that this pulsar was once a very massive star, which subsequently died out and then turned into a supernova. Very rare millisecond pulsars are presumably formed by the absorption of matter from a nearby companion star. That is, earlier this system was also double.

In this case, the star's companion, most likely, was a white dwarf, into which our Sun will also turn one day. White dwarfs, we recall, are former massive stars that have exhausted their hydrogen and are unable to maintain thermonuclear reactions inside their cores.

The millisecond pulsar may have "eaten" all the matter of the white dwarf, leaving it with only about 0.1 mass. As a result, the white dwarf turned into a truly exotic companion to the pulsar - the diamond planet.

Planet Kepler-16b. Real Tatooine

The planet Kepler-16b is in fact a real analogue of the planet Tatooine from the cinematic universe. star Wars". This title was given to her largely because Kepler-16b is one of the few discovered exoplanets orbiting a binary system of stars.

The mass of Kepler-16b is about 105 times that of the Earth, and at the same time its radius is 8.5 times greater than that of our planet. The atmosphere of this world is mostly hydrogen, methane and a small amount of helium. About 200 light-years away, Kepler-16b completes an orbit around its two stars every 627 of our Earth days.

Despite the fact that the planet looks like Tatooine, Kepler-16b, unlike the latter, cannot support life. Let's assume that even droids can't be found there.

Planet Kepler-10b. scorched world

The planet Kepler-10b is the smallest known exoplanet, and scientists suggest that its surface is covered with oceans of liquid lava. Located about 560 light-years from Earth, Kepler-10b was the first rocky planet discovered outside our solar system, effectively providing humanity with the first step towards the future of space exploration.

The surface temperature of Kepler-10b heats up to 1400 degrees Celsius. As a result of this, the rock located there literally melts, filling vast areas and forming real oceans of red-hot lava. The planet has a very high structural density, suggesting that Kepler-10b contains a large amount of iron, which gives the hot lava a brighter red hue.

Dark planet. TrES-2b

TrES-2b is the darkest exoplanet ever discovered, reflecting less than 1 percent of the star's light that reaches it. This makes it blacker than charcoal or black acrylic paint. In fact, it's a miracle that we found this planet, as it hides in the darkness of space worse than any ninja. By the way, this raises the question: how many exoplanets could we miss if there are such as TrES-2b?

Our hero is located approximately 750 light years from the solar system. Its atmosphere consists of vaporized sodium, potassium and titanium oxide. According to astronomers, this is why the planet reflects so little light, but the final answer to the mystery of why the planet is so dark has not yet been found and may never be. Who knows, maybe some intelligent civilization lives on TrES-2b, but we will never know about it. It's a very dark planet.

HD 189733b. Planet with glass rain

Perhaps one of the most interesting exoplanets on this list is HD 189733b, located 63 light years away. The thing is, it rains. Glass rain. Sideways. You have read correctly. The winds on this hellish exoplanet can reach 8,700 kilometers per hour, so falling particles from hot glass, produced by a concentrated atmosphere of silicon dioxide, do not have time to fall to the surface, chase horizontally in different directions, cutting everything in their path, after which they still fall on surface.

Just imagine being stuck on such a planet in a storm!

55 Cancer e. Planet with strange water

Planet 55 Cancer e is tidally locked, so one of its sides is constantly turned towards its home star. Due to this, water on its surface can be in a supercritical state - both liquid and in the form of a gas. The planet itself is about 25 times closer to the star than our Mercury is to the Sun, and makes a complete revolution around its luminary every 18 hours. It's very fast.

The mass of 55 Cancer e is approximately 7.8 times greater than that of the earth, and its radius is approximately 2 times greater than that of our planet.

CoRoT-7b. Planet with stone snow

CoRoT-7b is a truly bizarre planet, because it snows from rocks!

Like many other exoplanets, CoRoT-7b is in a tidal lock on its star. The surface temperature on the side facing the star is 2200 degrees Celsius, while on the side that is away from the star, the average temperature is typically -210 degrees Celsius.

The lava on the illuminated side heats up so much that it evaporates as a result, like water on our planet. This creates massive rocky clouds which then condense on the relatively cooler side and eventually crash to the surface as huge boulders. If we could withstand the extreme temperatures on this planet, the spectacle would be, indeed, quite entertaining.

Their amazing photos and incredible stories have surprised the whole world [photo]

The world around us is amazing and unpredictable - and primarily thanks to unusual people living in different parts of the world. Summing up the results of the past year, the well-known agency Barcroft Media presented a selection of the most impressive shots taken by its photographers in 2014. Among them are pictures of people whose incredible stories, unusual appearance or strange actions have attracted attention and become small sensations in the press and on the Internet. One of the characters of this ten was not too lucky from birth - life did not spoil them, but, nevertheless, they were able to turn their fate for the better. The actions of others can be called eccentric, insanely brave or just weird. One way or another, these people have one thing in common: their stories definitely cannot be called banal.

1. The tallest bride on the planet

Elisani da Cruz Silva was born in Brazil and grew up quite a healthy and beautiful child, except that she was unusually tall for her age. Now she is 19, and she officially holds the title of the tallest girl in Brazil: her height is 203 centimeters. It would seem that with such parameters, finding a boyfriend is not so easy. No matter how: Elizani has been dating a handsome young man for three years, whom she is now going to marry. Last year, young people announced their engagement. You can’t call the groom tall: his height is 162 centimeters. Instead of complexing and looking for a inch for himself, the guy went from the opposite - he took and fell in love with a beauty, visible in all respects. The difference in height between lovers is 41 centimeters. However, for true love, growth, like age, is not a hindrance.

Francinaldo da Silva Carvalho, a 24-year-old construction worker, is proud to have such a prominent girlfriend.

Friends ask how we hug, but it's so easy! Francinaldo laughs. – Elizani is very beautiful person. Yes, she's tall, but it's so cool!

Now Elizani's main dream is to become a mother as soon as possible. Because of the gigantism caused by a pituitary tumor, she is threatened with infertility, and the doctors advised the girl not to delay motherhood. “If I fail to give birth on my own, I will adopt the baby,” says Elizani.

2 The Gymnastics Champion Born Without Legs

This incredible story in November last year spread around the world. 27-year-old American Jen Bricker was born without legs due to a genetic failure. Her parents abandoned her, and the girl was adopted by the Bricker couple. Having learned about her youthful dream of becoming a gymnast, foster parents enrolled their daughter in a sports school at the age of 16. This decision not only gave Jen victory, but also revealed the secret of her birth. Like many novice gymnasts, the girl idolized the American athlete Dominique Helena Mosina-Canales, who won gold medal at the 1996 Olympics. “You will never believe it, but your real name was Mosin,” the foster mother once admitted and showed her the documents. It turned out that the champion Dominique is Jen's sister! Gymnastics was in her blood. Perhaps this is what helped the girl to succeed: she won the competition and became the state champion.

3. The boy with giant arms

Eight-year-old Kalim, who was born in East India, shows the photographer his anomalous big hands. Each hand weighs 8 kilograms and reaches a length of 33 centimeters - from the base of the palm to the end of the middle finger. Kalim is unable to do many, even the simplest, things that boys of his age can easily do. His parents earn only $22 a month and are desperate to find help for their son, but to no avail. Even those doctors who would like to help him do not know how to do it. Doctors cannot even accurately diagnose the boy, and suggest that the cause of his condition may be a lymphangioma (a benign tumor that often occurs during fetal development) or a hamartoma (a benign neoplasm that arises from the same tissues as the organ in which it is located).

4. Hindu with a turban of 45 kilograms

Avtar Singh was photographed last July in the Indian city of Patiyala (Punjab). A man every day wears a huge traditional Punjabi turban called "pagdi". The headdress weighs 45 kilograms and consists of 645 meters of fabric - if unwound, it will be 13 Olympic pools in length! The 60-year-old Hindu has been wearing it regularly for the past 16 years, despite the fact that it takes him six hours to wind the turban. Avtar has constant problems with doorways and with car roofs that his headdress simply does not fit into, but thanks to his turban he is considered one of the most authoritative preachers of the Punjab.

5. 130 kg model - the dream of male dwarfs

130-pound two-meter American model Amanda Soule makes a living by fulfilling the innocent desires of small men who prefer bigger ladies. For a certain amount, Amanda can scold you in her arms, let her ride or sit on top of you. But no intimacy! Amanda also willingly agrees to accompany men in public - in order to raise the status of her gentlemen in the eyes of the public. Amanda dreamed of becoming a model, but with her size, alas, it seemed unattainable. Suddenly she discovered a whole niche where she can make good money. With her huge bust and hips measuring 160 centimeters in girth, Amanda has won fans around the world.

6. 91-year-old bride and her 31-year-old fiance

American Kyle Jones is 31 years old: at this age, know for yourself, frame young girls. But the guy from Pittsburgh is clearly not looking for easy ways. Kyle had an affair with... 91-year-old Marjorie McCool. The couple met in 2009 in a bookstore, and since then they have been together - both in soul and body.

Despite their 60-year age difference, Kyle and Marjorie say they have a very hectic sex life. Kyle experienced his first romance at the age of 18 with a 50-year-old lady, and since then he realized that he was drawn to older women. He longs with all his heart to marry Marjorie - if, of course, the bride lives to see this happy day. Kyle's mom (the blonde in the photo) approved her son's choice.

The brain of each person is arranged differently, some guys prefer blondes, brunettes, some are generally gay, and I like old women, the young man assures.

7. The fattest bride in the world

Charity Pierce from Iowa now weighs 358 kilograms. Despite the impressive size and the fact that she practically does not leave the house, the woman managed to find her love. Three years ago, Charity fell in love with a guy almost half her age: now her fiancé Tony Sauer is 22 years old. A woman dreams of wearing a white dress, cowboy boots and a hat to her wedding: “Tom and I are both fans of country music, so we decided to dress like this. Tony will wear a cowboy outfit too.”

For a stomach resection - an operation to reduce it - she needs to lose at least 120 kilograms. The groom actively helps her in this by putting her beloved on a diet. The operation will save Charity's life - now her heart is struggling to cope with the maximum load. Charity Pierce has reduced her daily calorie intake from 10,000 to 1,200 calories, but the results are not yet visible: every time the arrow on the scale does not add optimism to a woman.

8 Biceps Man

56-year-old Arlindo de Souza is a Brazilian bodybuilder who has built incredibly huge muscles for himself, and in a rather dangerous way. A longtime admirer of Arnold Schwarzenegger, he initially played sports honestly. And then he took it, and pumped synthol into his muscles - a cocktail of mineral oil and alcohol. As a result, Arlindo became the owner of caricaturely huge biceps. True, this did not make him stronger - he still can only lift weights of ordinary weight.

9 Grizzly Trainer

Doug Soos is one of the most famous trainers on the planet, having tamed grizzlies. Doug allows himself to do things that no other person in the world would dare to do - like putting his head in a bear's mouth. At their ranch in Heber City, Utah, Doug and his wife Lynn have raised and raised four bears over the past four decades. The bears and their "parents" managed to work with a good dozen Hollywood stars - Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Eddie Murphy were filmed at their ranch. Bear Bart the Second, in whose mouth the head of Doug lies in the photo, recently starred in one of the episodes of the cult television saga Game of Thrones.

Bangalore became a celebrity in his hometown and inspired dozens of children to take up the sport. Gagan himself has already set himself a new bar - to drive under a hundred cars.
