Forest survival course. "Survival courses" in the Russian army. Target Audience for Survival Courses

Somewhat paradoxically, the task of intensifying the training of servicemen who are in the ranks of the armed forces of the Russian Federation on a contract basis is formulated. On the one hand, voluntary service increases professionalism, and on the other hand, the “professionals” themselves will have to be trained. This situation is explained by the fact that professionalism, often in demand in all law enforcement agencies, is associated not with military training, but with the professional activities of civilians with military registration specialties.

It's no secret that a huge number of contract soldiers in our army did not even do military service. First of all, training courses are aimed at this category of military personnel. Yes, and experienced fighters will not hurt the passage of the training program, which among themselves the participants called the school of survival.

For the first time, the introduction of an intensive military training program was discussed back in 2012. According to a preliminary idea, it was decided to organize courses not only for newcomers, but also for those who have been engaged in military craft for more than a year. Naturally, these courses should have been filled with physical exercises, military training, self-control training and special exercises aimed at suppressing fear, panic, and a state of stupor. The duration of the training is six weeks.

Survival school - first combat experience

Many mistakenly believe that the survival school for contract soldiers is a set of classes in inhuman conditions, where the real main task of a soldier is to save life. Fake sources report the presence of deaths during the passage of the "school".

We hasten to assure you that this is not at all the case, because the life and health of a serviceman is important for the state. The term is formulated from the considerations that the course is dominated by methods of behavior in difficult conditions and emergency situations.

It is quite difficult to unambiguously describe the attitude of the public to innovations in the army. Many saw here a note of humiliation, violations of human rights and even crime. Combat veterans, on the contrary, believe that everyone must go through this, otherwise there is nothing to do in the army.

The intensive training program has been successfully tested in a number of regions of the Russian Federation, and to date, legal documents have been prepared that establish the procedure and obligation for its development. As planned, absolutely all contractors, including women, participate in the training. Refusal to participate in the courses is tantamount to a report, since in the near future the citizen will be forcibly dismissed from the ranks of the Armed Forces, as not having professional conformity. Failure to meet the standards promises the same outcome.

The statistics of the results of passing the survival school are replete with deplorable values. Among all military personnel, a certain part turned out to be unfit for service according to the results of a medical examination. Some did not meet the prescribed standards. There are also those who wrote a letter of resignation or refused to undergo training. The share of those who completed the course is dominant, but practice has shown that in the army ranks with physical training, not everything is so smooth.

What is included in the program

Combined arms exercises form the basis of the intensive training program. The course is characterized by high physical and psychological stress and ends with the passing of standards. In general, the intensity of training is comparable to the training of paratroopers or special forces units. Six months of intensive training is more than enough to prepare a soldier even from a civilian with no military experience.

The survival course for contractors in 2018 will include fire, medical training, tactics and strategy, and chemical defense exercises. Physical exercises are performed at the training ground. In the "fields" (as the soldiers call the training ground), the soldiers will have to spend a decent part of the time, so they will live in tents. Such a "Spartan" way of life leads not only to the development of endurance, but also tempers the spirit, accompanies team building.

Planned results:

  • after completing a training course, military personnel should be able to set up a field camp and mask it;
  • be able to apply the acquired skills to counter various types of attacks;
  • know the theoretical material on the tactics of warfare;
  • be able to respond to different situations.

March is considered the final part of the test. Despite the fact that it is carried out on foot, and many believe that they can go any distance without preparation, this stage turns out to be one of the most difficult. The fact is that during the forced march, the soldier is fully equipped, which means tens of kilograms of excess weight. In addition, the route itself is designed in such a way that combat conditions are simulated. The length of the route reaches 150 km. Due to the peculiarities of the female body, the command is forced to meet them halfway. Requirements for running and forced march are significantly reduced.

The psychological component of the school of survival is that each fighter must realize his destiny. Still, the attitude to the army, as a way of earning, is not welcome. It is necessary to defend the Motherland not for money, and it is not for money that you will need to give your life for it. Anyone who does not agree with this does not violate the law, but must weigh it again before putting on a soldier's uniform. It goes without saying that citizens who are chasing the "long ruble" are weeded out. It is unlikely that they will agree to undergo such tests for free. Therefore, it can be said that, in general, the intensive training program justifies the hopes placed on it.

Shortcomings of the intensive training program

It so happened that in Russia any law must have a certain time for "running in", not to mention the program. There were some nuances in the organization of the survival school. As can be seen from the program, it consists of several stages. Not a single stage is carried out with the proper degree of objectivity. Beginning with the medical examination, there are cases of bribery everywhere.

Let's start with the fact that courses are provided even for women who came to serve in the armed forces through contact. The name "survival courses" is popular. Speaking correctly, this is an intensive military training program. Being a civilian, it is impossible to master all the intricacies of military service, as well as to prepare for their special rhythm of life. No books will help better than these courses. This intensive program includes learning techniques for self-control and discipline, as well as overcoming fear.

In general, this is a special set of exercises that every contract soldier must go through before starting the service. Of course, everyone is interested in how long such a preparation procedure takes. These are short courses, their duration is 6 weeks. During this time, a person is completely immersed in military affairs, his consciousness and views change. In general, he is preparing to become a real soldier.

It should be noted that in Russia, survival courses began to be applied relatively recently. Since 2012, they have been actively used to train contract soldiers. After their introduction, controversy erupted over the fact that these courses are humiliating and illegal. As practice shows, they help a person to rethink his choice and finally make sure that he is right. The benefits of the courses are:

  • the ability to quickly determine whether a citizen is fit for service;
  • preparing a person for his future work;
  • possibility to refuse service in case of difficulties.

The cons are the following:

  • heavy loads;
  • the essence of the program is not connected with any type of troops;
  • efficiency depends on the conditions of the training unit.

In recent years, the number of those who changed their mind about becoming a contract soldier after completing an intensive program has increased by 350 people.

On the one hand, this is good, since those who cannot serve are immediately eliminated. But still, some people need more time than 6 weeks to adapt and get used to it. Therefore, opinions about these courses are twofold.

The essence of the courses

Survival courses consist of:

  1. Intense physical activity.
  2. Fire, combat, chemical, medical, tactical and engineering training.

Most courses are held at the training grounds. During the intensive program period, all fighters:

  • eat dry rations;
  • master the skills of camouflage and methods of setting up field camps;
  • master the skills of action against the enemy;
  • are trained in the tactics of conducting actions of military formations;
  • learn to overcome various obstacles.

Toward the end of the course, all military personnel are expected to march for 150 km. Special conditions are being created that are as close as possible to real combat operations. At the very end of the program, everyone takes physical and combat training exams. The course for women is somewhat different from men's. Physical activity has been slightly modified, the standards have been reduced. But often, many women who are over 30 years old suffer from an increase in pressure after a 5-kilometer forced march. In addition, women of a fragile physique face a problem when carrying backpacks with uniforms.

In general terms, survival courses are aimed at making the young fighter aware that he will have to risk his life, take responsibility and make serious decisions quickly. Also, contractors must understand that they will have to work not for a salary, but for the well-being of their homeland. Wages in this case only ensure a decent life for those who donate it. If a fighter believes that contract service is an alternative to regular work, but with a high salary, as well as the opportunity to "slope" from an urgent one, then he is mistaken, so he has nothing to do in the armed forces. This school of survival is necessary for the citizen to finally decide on his choice. Before the introduction of these courses, the military often encountered fighters who, either physically or morally, did not pull the service, as a result of which they abandoned this business, only wasting their time and effort.

Problems of survival courses for contractors

Since this program was developed recently, it is not fully coordinated, and has its own problems. In general, there are two:

  1. Corruption. Today, bribery is found everywhere, be it in a hospital, an educational institution or the army. Those who have sufficient funds often have better conditions and are treated more loyally than others. Regarding the courses, if they are conducted by those who are not averse to taking a bribe, then, of course, the fighters may not take them, but automatically be included in the list of contract soldiers. The state needs to fight such individuals and not allow some to try their best, while others get everything just because they have a fat wallet.
  2. Equipment. Unfortunately, fighters have to buy uniforms for their money, which cost a lot of money. The state does not equip the units with all the necessary equipment, and what is there is old and practically out of order.

Otherwise, survival courses have a large number of pluses. The main thing is not to be afraid to pass them. If you decide to become a military man, then you need to be prepared for difficulties, restrictions and difficult conditions.

What is the difference between regular service and contract service?

Contractual service is military activity for a fixed period of time by agreement. For such activities, citizens receive wages that are usually higher than those who are not contract workers. In order to become a military contractor, you must meet the requirements:

  • be of a suitable age, i.e. between 18 and 40 years old;
  • have a secondary or higher education;
  • pass a special medical commission and be in categories "A" or "B";
  • comply with the standards set out in the NFP.

The contractor must be hardy, decisive, executive, strong and responsible. He must be ready to take orders and give them out. In addition, it is important for a contractor to be prepared for the toughest conditions of survival. First of all, he should think about the Motherland, and then about himself.

How to become a contractor

To enter this kind of service, you need to come to the local point of contractors for detailed advice on further service. Next, with a passport, you need to apply to the local commissariat, writing there an application for admission to the number of contract soldiers. After that, the citizen is expected to be checked by a medical commission, as well as checking all documents. Then he is sent to a military unit to undergo a survival school. At the end of the course, a decision is made on whether the citizen is ready to become a contract soldier or not. If everything is in order, then he goes to the main place, where he will continue to serve.

Advantages and disadvantages of such a service

The benefits of a contract service are:

  1. High salary (from 30 thousand rubles).
  2. Permanent travel.
  3. The presence of a service apartment at the place of service.
  4. Lots of perks.
  5. Honor and respect among other professions.
  6. Free travel in public transport.
  7. The presence of clothing that can be worn even in civilian life.
  8. Retirement at 45.
  9. Vacation - 45 calendar days.

Several cons:

  • risk to life and health;
  • difficult conditions in which you sometimes have to be;
  • constant traveling, because of which you rarely see your relatives;
  • unquestioning execution of orders;
  • great responsibility.

The course of survival in the wild is designed for tourists, climbers, hunters and all those who at least sometimes get out of the cities. Going on a serious route or simply going to the forest for mushrooms, we are faced with numerous objective (natural) and subjective (depending on us) dangers. This course will allow you to systematize old and acquire new knowledge and skills necessary for a successful exit from various extreme situations in the wild and beyond.

The topic of survival in the wild is very interesting and extensive. You can read a lot of books, watch a lot of videos and really learn a lot of valuable information from them, but this topic has another important feature that should be taken into account: in an extreme situation, dry theory does not work - only skills work. In this course, we are just acquiring and practicing real life survival skills in the wild, which one day can save the life of you and your loved ones. Our course is not an attraction - you will not be beaten, forced to dive into a swamp or starve to create an "atmosphere" (unless by special order 🙂 Such measures are not necessary for the acquisition and assimilation of skills. Instead, you will receive a clear system of skills and knowledge , which will give you confidence in your abilities, and also help you avoid getting into dangerous situations in nature.

NAZ, an ax, a compass - be sure to take it if available!

About the name of the course and its essence. You will be surprised, but we do not like the name. But if you call the course something else, for example, "a course of basic skills in the natural environment", then no one will understand what it is about. What other basic skills? In what environment? But with the “survival course” everything is immediately clear - images of the brave heroes of Jack London’s novels, Fenimore Cooper, who are able to withstand the elements alone, who know the forest and the habits of wild animals, are able to live in the wild for a long time with almost one knife. Or at least the famous TV presenter Bear Grylls, who successfully "survived" in all parts of the world and filmed many episodes of his program about it. But, unfortunately, the modern visitor to the site most often comes to mind not the brave Natty Bumpo or Smoke Bellew, but the “survivors” from social networks, endlessly preparing for the alien invasion, nuclear winter, zombie apocalypse and who knows what else. Usually, all preparation is limited to the same social networks and heated debates “which ax / knife / backpack / compass / stew / naz / shovel is better, etc. Even a separate term was formed - "couch preppers" - and most of them are.

The name "Course of Basic Skills in the Natural Environment" is definitely closer to us. We do not deal with abstract topics on the course, such as “how to build a bunker in case of a nuclear war in your country house” or “how to spend the night on a tree in late autumn in just shorts and with a plastic bag” - Youtube and “survivors” will tell you about this in detail in social networks. We are also not personal growth coaches and other psychologists, some of whom have recently moved from offices to the forest to "teach" the science of survival.

Instead of all this, on the course we pay attention to the most prosaic things: what if you get lost in the forest with a basket for mushrooms and a table knife? If he lagged behind his own on a campaign? How to deal with your fear and panic, how to start a fire, how to arrange a temporary shelter to save strength and live relatively comfortably until a way out of this emergency is found, how to provide yourself with drinkable water, how to deal with food, provision for yourself and other necessary first aid, what to do with the compass and map, how to navigate the terrain? And most importantly - how to prevent all these problems and not get into extreme situations? On our course you will receive concrete knowledge and skills that could one day save the lives of you and your loved ones. These situations, of course, are not as relevant as the same zombie apocalypse or alien attack, but they can also happen. And with everyone.

In general, in this course you will receive the set of skills and knowledge that any person should have. We are too distant from nature and too arrogant in our confidence in the security of the benefits of modern civilization in any place at any time. Although life constantly shows us that this is far from the case. Whoever understands this comes to us.

    Reading previous reviews, I understand that people knew where they were going. I did not know. And this is a wild delight!
    Chop, saw, prick, drag - a small part of the verbs, meaning what I now know how to do with trees, before I just admired them, but now they, and not only them, can save my life. But this is only thanks to the knowledge and skills that our amazing instructor Vasily gave us.
    Build a dwelling, build and light a fire that will burn and warm all night, determine your location and direction of movement by landmarks, give yourself first aid - a small part of what was on the Basic skills course in the natural environment.
    This is an invaluable experience that everyone needs, whether you are a city dweller or not. Such "little things", which are actually no trifles, can really help in an emergency to wait for qualified help.
    Thanks to the Club and Vasily for a sincere, informative and delicious weekend!
    P.S.: the ability to strike the right spark from a flint and flint is a magical art that is not subject to everyone ...

    We, city dwellers, imagine the forest as kind and beautiful. Many go on picnics and vacations only in good weather and see nature in all its glory, often forgetting that the natural environment for a modern urban person is unusual and dangerous. Few people know how to make a shelter and a fire from natural materials. What if you get lost and find yourself in the forest at night? And if it's cold, rain / snow and the phone is dead?
    These situations were simulated and successfully worked out on the course.
    We built shelters from trees and spruce branches.
    We made fire with birch bark and flint.
    We kindled a node and slept on fragrant spruce branches, not fenced off from the forest with a tent.
    Opening their eyes in the morning, they saw not a wall, but the morning sun breaking through the trees ...
    Was it difficult, of course. Because any new knowledge cannot be obtained without effort. Especially as important as the preservation of life and health in an emergency.
    The instructors also taught us how to use the compass and we immediately practiced this knowledge in practice.
    Those participants who already know how and practice "survival" in the forest surprised with unusual approaches to arranging an overnight stay. I was surprised how many different hiding places you can think of with just an ax and a saw. And if there is also some kind of canvas, for example, a construction awning or a life blanket, then comfort is guaranteed.)))
    In general, it was interesting, fun and useful.
    Special thanks to the instructor Vasily Dolzhansky for his irrepressible energy and sincere desire to give us as much knowledge and skills as possible.

    On October 12-13, the “Basic Survival Skills Course” was held.
    Great weekend in great company!)🤗
    Instructor Vasily is the most patient person :)), a professional in his field. Many thanks to him for his knowledge, positive attitude and for timely assistance in emerging issues.😁
    The organization is at the highest level, for which I would like to thank Philip and Alexandra. There were absolutely no problems. The guys are great fellows.🔥
    Despite the fact that I was the youngest member there, I was very comfortable in our formed team. All very friendly, pleasant and interesting people, I was sincerely glad to meet everyone!👋🏻
    The weather conditions did not frighten any of us; on the contrary, the rain created an atmosphere closer to a potentially possible survival situation. We were able to test the built shelters for resistance to certain weather conditions, identify errors and remember them.🏕
    Also on the course, Vasily taught us how to use a compass, calculate azimuths, navigate the terrain, provide first aid in extreme conditions, kindle a fire with a stone and a piece of metal.😎
    I am very glad that I was able to take part in this event, and I thank everyone who was involved in it.❤
    Already choosing which next trip I will go with cityescape😉

    Fellow instructors, Vasily! Many thanks to you all for the survival course and first aid! I have been working in field scientific expeditions for ten years, I have been hiking since childhood, but I have never had to spend the night in winter without a tent and make fire without matches, and this can always come in handy! Of course, my hands are then calloused from the flint and my hands ache a little from the saw, my feet get cold, but the main thing is that we provided ourselves with a warm overnight stay according to your sensitive guidance and generally had a great rest from the city. Vasily teaches the material in a fun and clear way. The instructors were always ready to help and repeatedly checked whether we were cold at night and whether we had built the shelter correctly. Special thanks to Philip, Sasha and Oleg for delicious and varied food, for nightly mulled wine and forest Maslenitsa! And of course, the winter forest is beautiful, snow caps falling by the scruff of the neck and orienteering waist-deep in the snow is wonderful. And separately about first aid - we received a very non-standard set of in-depth skills applicable specifically in the field, for which many thanks to Vasily. All tourists and field workers need this course!

    I join in the words of gratitude. An excellent, very useful course for everyone, for everyone, and not only for tourists, but also for ordinary residents of cities. Excellent organization, friendly environment. Well done organizers! Special thanks to the course leader V. Dolzhansky, he is just a survival guru, an excellent teacher. Despite all the difficulties, I rested my body and soul, gained new knowledge and skills, talked with very interesting and smart people. I also spied on some useful things that I can now show the guys myself when I lead the group on a hike. Very pleasant memories of my team, we managed to equip our shelter and campfire very smoothly, it was great. Thanks cityscape!

    Many thanks to CityEscape for such a course! I advise everyone to visit! I learned a lot of useful things that every hiker needs, and acquired useful skills. Not everything worked out right away, but it did work out, and the principle of action is clear, I will practice, for example, making a fire without matches in other campaigns. I also liked the fact that before attending the lecture it was proposed to fill out a questionnaire in which you can write what you expect from this course, so that the organizers could take into account your wishes and answer your questions during the course itself. We were lucky with the weather, it would be interesting to survive in more severe conditions, for example, in winter. If there is a course like this in the winter, I will definitely go! And I advise everyone!!! Thanks again!!!

    I will write simply ... definitely to visit. many of us do not climb out of the campaigns. but many go with travel agencies, and many even if they themselves, then for the most part with a tent, matches and everything necessary. and everyone has a bunch of theoretical information in their heads, what to do if suddenly if ... and here comes the bummer - it turns out that it seems to be known in theory and read / heard somewhere, it doesn’t really fit with practice ... because mistakes they pop up where you wouldn't expect them at all. it is clear that it will be uninteresting for very seasoned survivalists with vast experience (but even here it will be extremely pleasant and interesting for you to just chat with the club leaders and survival instructors!), but to all those who at least once had the thought during the campaign “what if ?…” and especially for those who are thinking about the hiking path of life - a must visit! you will not regret!!! and many thanks to CityEscape for giving me the opportunity to get such skills!

    Kind everyone!
    To those with whom we were on a course in Domodedovo forests on April 8-9, 2017, and who have become so close in spirit over these 2 days, and to everyone who is reading these lines now and still doubting whether to try it yourself .. Do not hesitate! It's really worth it!!!
    In the report about the event, the organizers wrote that this is rather not a "Survival Course" - it is a "Basic Skills Course in the Wilderness" - and Yes, I wholeheartedly agree with this.
    Many of us - from the Internet, from TV shows, books, stories of "experienced" - know, in principle, quite a lot of "theoretical" information - what to do if a "walk" in nature went "wrong".
    But here's the practice.
    Yes, everyone knows that you can make a fire with the help of a flint and flint. -Have you tried it?
    You can make a shelter from the weather from trees and spruce branches. - Do you know how to tie and fasten it so that it does not blow from the first good gust of wind?
    Lay down a fire that gives off heat for a long time? Get off the map? Help yourself or someone else with an injury? - you can go on for a long time.
    And if this is all for the first time and stress and fear paralyze you, and the time until you figure out what to grab onto is your worst enemy??
    For me, this course turned out to be valuable not only for practice, specific techniques, “how and what” techniques. But, most importantly, that all this is possible! Perhaps an ordinary, urban, person accustomed to comfort. -Psychological aspect!
    And in this regard, the organizers - Alexandra, Philip - a huge RESPECT! and Vasily (it's just a storehouse of information) - real GOOD FELLOWS!! Now I'm with you!)
    It’s a pity that it passed so quickly - for me it became a “seed”)
    P.S. The whole next day after the course at work went down the drain)) I sat and scrolled in my head everything that I heard, felt, did during these two days .. -How much they fit in! A whole little life!
    Good luck everyone!
    Sun ahead and clear skies overhead!

    Last week I took a course in survival in the wild. I want to say a huge thank you to the club for a professionally organized event, from which I personally (and, judging by the reaction, all the other participants) enjoyed a lot. For a three-hour theoretical lesson and a two-day workshop, you get as much knowledge and skills as you will not get anywhere else. Here and making a fire without matches or a lighter, and building a shelter with the right “hearth”, and learning to navigate the terrain, as well as invaluable first aid practice, and much more. Course instructor Vasily is just a treasure trove of information on survival and willingly shares it, and also helps participants with experience to "survive" according to an individual program. It is difficult to list everything that I learned and what I learned on the course, but I can say one thing for sure: this course is needed not only for tourists, but also for everyone else who understands that they are not immune from an unforeseen situation. And since there is no room for error in such a situation, now I will be much more seriously prepared for it and will no longer rely on chance when going on a trip or even being in my usual home environment.

    Yes, and a pleasant bonus of the course is a pleasant company of positive people, beautiful nature and delicious camping food, which, however, will not get better. 🙂

    I am incredibly glad that I was able to take this course - it gives a lot of practical and useful skills, but a lot also depends on how much you want to take. I tried to learn and learn the maximum, thanks to Vasily for helping me in this desire and showing me a lot, and most importantly, he motivated me to finish it until it worked out, which helped me to believe in myself and my strength! It's incredibly cool to realize that now I can make a fire with or without a steel, make a water filter, assemble a bow saw, build a shelter, spend the night in it and much, much more! I learned so much in two days, the weekend was not in vain! And a great company only raised the mood)

    It was a great weekend! The first night in my life on the street without a tent and the first night in my life. I tried my hand at orienteering on the map, remembered how to make a fire without matches and many, many more useful skills. Vasily, thanks for the science! Sasha, Philip - great organization and very tasty food! It seems that my next trip with you will be - culinary? And of course a great company - thanks guys for all the pleasant communication! City Escape - well done!

    This course gave me the opportunity to overcome the helplessness associated with the habit of comfort) to overcome the fear of a simple and at the same time previously impossible task - not to get confused, to help myself (at least myself). Many thanks to Philip and Sasha for the quality organization and delicious food, Vasily for a rich and very practical training. For the skills that call me to move on, because I want to and I'm not afraid. And to all our team for such a cool experience. :)

    The knowledge and skills gained in the course are invaluable. You can endlessly “smoke the Internet” and watch videos of “survivors”, but until you build a shelter with your own hands and make a fire, you won’t learn anything. The most important knowledge after the course is a practical algorithm of actions. Many thanks to the organizers - Alexandra and Philip, the course leader Vasily for the informative and well-organized course. As a bonus, all participants received a very tasty lunch prepared in the field. Thanks.

    Before going on a long hike, you need to know such skills as making a fire without matches and lighters, building a temporary shelter and any basic skills for survival in the wild a few hundred kilometers from the nearest settlement. After all, no one is insured and does not know what can happen to him at such a moment.
    So I did, deciding that I need to know these skills before moving forward for a long time, which I do not regret at all, everything was at the highest level.
    I learned a lot of new things and most importantly learned this.
    The organizers are great, I want to express my deep gratitude to Vasily, Philip and Alexandra.

    I would like to leave a review about the Wilderness Survival Course on December 10, 2016.
    I wanted to take some survival courses for a very long time, but the fact that I decided to do it in City escape happened, in a lot of cases, by accident. However, during the event, I realized how good it turned out that way! In addition to the fact that the course itself was extremely informative, useful and aimed at acquiring the most important skills and experience, it was very well prepared and organized, which greatly increased the quality of learning and the pleasantness of the process! Everything necessary was prepared and delivered to the place, and while we were studying, an incomparable lagman was prepared for us, a very warm atmosphere reigned all the time! It was a wonderful combination of learning the skills needed in extreme situations and comfortable outdoor recreation!
    Many thanks to Philip, Alexandra, Vasily and all course participants!!!

    Thanks to the organizers for the course! A lot of new and interesting, and most importantly, everything with practical development. Many stories from the instructor's life. The level of tin is according to your desires and capabilities.
    The course opened my eyes to many aspects (the idea of making fire has especially changed).
    There is a desire to somehow repeat, slightly increasing the level of complexity.

    Many thanks to the Cityescape team! In addition to the wonderful two days spent in a circle of like-minded people, I gained useful knowledge and acquired some skills in emergency situations. I hope they never come in handy for me))). Everything went just great!!! Everyone survived))) I'm already going on my next trip.

    I liked the survival course very much - interesting, capacious, informative! The theoretical foundations of survival were well described at the lecture, during the practical part we received not only knowledge, but also valuable skills - we built a shelter shelter (even without using a rope), learned how to kindle and maintain a fire, completed an orientation quest with a compass and a map, on practice, they mastered the skills of providing “first aid” to the victim and much more! Thanks to the instructor Vasily for professionalism, we got answers to all our questions and a lot of new useful information, thanks to Philip and Alexandra for the excellent organization of classes and the trip, for delicious porridge and mulled wine! I advise everyone who at least occasionally gets out into nature to take this course!

    Very informative, useful and interesting course! I knew some of the theory before, remembered something, but most importantly, I learned a lot, and even tried it in practice. Thank you Vasily for sharing your knowledge with us. Sasha and Philip - for the excellent organization, delicious food and a nice bonus in the form of photos.
    I advise everyone who wants to actively, fun and usefully spend the weekend!!!

    It was my first time on such a course. This course was created not for extreme people, but for reasonable people and the ideas were to avoid trouble, prepare well for a fight / flight / hike, and also how to deal with panic if something is wrong.
    The main rule of first aid to the victim is not to be in the role of the second victim. The main rule of solo hiking is not to go solo or at least have someone who knows when to wait and where to look.
    Personally, in order to say that I have mastered, I probably need a dozen weekly practices with increasing complexity in different seasons and situations.
    In these courses, everyone tried (and managed) to strike sparks and make fire from a spark. On the first day, I mastered the technology of maintaining a fire: to burn for a long time, not to spit sparks. Managed only with a chain saw. At night, I was warmed by one not thick deadwood pine and not quite rotten birches lying under my feet. Burned a fire without getting out of a summer sleeping bag. The next day, after tasting Philip's branded porridge, I got acquainted with the accommodation of other participants, the benefits of autumn leaves, garbage bags, the practical use of a tablet compass - how to walk with it in a given direction. At the end there were first aid courses - ways to stop the blood and evacuate the injured and frozen.
    At the end of the course, everyone received certificates and prizes 🙂

    Great event. Many important aspects of safety and how to live a short time in the forest without external support are very well told and shown in practice. I highly recommend this course to anyone who even occasionally goes even on simple one-day trips.

    It was not in vain that I went, although I knew a lot in theory, but without practice, all this will be useless. Thanks to Vasily, he didn’t just answer, he also asked someone who didn’t know something or wanted to try to do it and helped either with advice or told everything in detail. We were fed, the guys were given axes, everything went well and without alcohol. I am satisfied, thanks to everyone involved in the successful completion of this event! I advise this course - it will be useful for beginners and theorists.

    A very useful event indeed! It seems that in theory I have heard a lot of things, I know a lot of things, but in practice I have never tried to perform it myself. So here you get real experience. Thank you very much cityescape for this event!

    really liked the survival course
    the theoretical part turned out to be extremely useful, I learned a lot of new things. The lecturer tells interesting things)
    the practical part was also on top. we learned how to build shelters, learned how to cut trees correctly and safely.
    many thanks to the organizers for the delicious food, photos and warm atmosphere and Vasily for such a lot of useful knowledge)

    The first time I went to such an event, I was very pleased with the organization and professionalism of the instructors. I think that these events serve for a calm existence in an extreme situation. I will definitely attend such events in the future. Thanks to Vasily, Philip and Alexandra 🙂

It is rare that anyone thinks about taking a survival course in the forest or taiga, but no one is immune from being alone with wildlife. Such situations are not so rare, just watch the news to see how often people die or live in the forest for many days, just getting lost while hiking for mushrooms.
